Swedish rising star Alesso delivers the final version of “Clash”, which has been floating around this past summer and fall in many DJ sets; his most aggressive and neck-snapping production to date. The average fans who only know the young producer for his contribution to “Calling”, his remix of “Pressure” or his latest hit “Years”, will surely be surprised that such a track could come from the hard drive of a guy who produces such feel-good melodic anthems.  But this shouldn’t as come too much of a surprise for those that are familiar with Alesso’s “Nillionaire” and “Dynamite”, as the young Swede has a history of more hard edged productions; besides it’s good to see him branching out and experimenting with different sounds.  This track feels as if it belongs in an  action movie, and certainly based on how Hollywood has recently been embracing EDM, it wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if it actually does at some point in the near future.

At the tail end of a year that has spelt a debut Pryda album, a permanent move to Los Angeles and more, Eric Prydz drops yet another exclusive-packed episode of his monthly EPIC Radio podcast for December.
Racked with a collection of unreleased productions, personal edits and remixes, the hotly tipped ‘Pete Tong ID’ and his own edit of his ‘Midnight City’ remix reign in as a firm indication that Prydz has got plenty more aces up his sleeve. Signing off with an exclusive spin of Jeremy Olander’s next Pryda Friends release and Human League’s 1981 classic ‘Seconds’, the sixth instalment of EPIC Radio is yet another prime example to how a podcast should be done.Stream / Download: Eric Prydz – EPIC Radio 006

A-Trak & Tommy Trash – Tuna Melt + MoreA-Trak – “Fool’s Gold” Record label co-founder, child DJ prodigy, half of Duck-Sauce (the duo responsible for “Barbara Streisand”) and former DJ to Kanye West (among many other titles) has just released an impressive 4 track EP “Tuna Melt”.  He’s proving time and time again that albeit his approach to dance music is unconventional (he does come from a hip-hop background afterall), he’s certainly providing an interesting and unique approach as far as his involvement in music production goes (very reminiscent of what Diplo is doing), collaborating on this EP with the likes of Tommy Trash, GTA, Oliver and Galantis.  Not to under-estimated, A-Trak is not one to stick to any particular sound or genre, making him an important an interesting player in the dance music scene to keep an eye on. –>Available on Itunes now

Tony Romera – Pandor
Off the back of a two week streak of inhabiting the #1 spot on Beatport with ‘Like Home‘, Nicky Romero’s “Protocol Recordings” ups the ante for it’s first non-Nicky release, courtesy of fast-ascending Frenchman Tony Romera.
Never confined to one solitary sound, Romera ditches the grinding Electro that pervaded the majority of his studio output throughout the year, including the Beatport #3 remix of ‘Breaking Up’ alongside Bartosz Brenes, for a minimalistic cut called ‘Pandor’. As premiered on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio, the standalone rolling chord play and ‘Koko’-influenced breakdown melodiesthat make up ‘Pandor’ look to extend his club-savvy studio output with a solid contribution to the post-festival season. – BMD

Video: Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston – Alchemy
British DJs Above and Beyond’s poignant, Zoë Johnston-featuring dancefloor anthem “Alchemy” now has a heartwrenching visual accompaniment. The new clip tracks a relationship as it crumbles in slow motion when a spurned woman discovers her lover with someone else.
As Above and Beyond’s Tony McGuinness tells Rolling Stone, the track is “an honest, raw expression of betrayal” and was written based on personal experiences. “Both the video director, Jonas Mayabb, and the star of the video, Mackenzie Firgens, have lived it, too,” McGuinness says. “We met Mackenzie in L.A. at one of our recent Shrine shows and one of the first things we talked about was this song. ”Alchemy’ is about me, really,’ she said. It didn’t take long to persuade her to star in the video. Jonas’ treatment is simple to describe, but the finished film is a testament to his skill as a director and the actors’ ability to relive this painful experience so beautifully and movingly.”
